Scale AI is seeking a Senior Product Design Manager to lead and grow the design team for its Enterprise product line. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on design execution, overseeing a growing team of designers while directly shaping the user experience for high-stakes enterprise applications and AI-powered workflows.
Key responsibilities include setting the design direction for Scale's Enterprise customers—organizations making critical decisions with AI agents—and translating the broader design vision into clear team priorities. You'll own hiring, development, and day-to-day leadership, building a culture and operating rhythm that enables designers to do their best work. The role requires partnering closely with Product and Engineering counterparts to ensure design is involved from problem scoping through delivery, not as an afterthought.
You'll drive design execution across the Enterprise product, raising the craft bar by pushing designers beyond digitizing workflows toward genuinely rethinking how people work with AI. This includes contributing to and championing Scale's shared design system, ensuring consistency across a distributed team while maintaining quality without sacrificing speed.
A core focus is grounding the team in user needs through research habits and cadences that keep decisions rooted in what enterprise customers actually require. You'll advocate for this discipline with Product and Engineering partners and help shape Scale's approach to human-agent interaction—a critical area where trust is built or lost. Scale's core value is human-in-the-loop AI, and the interface is where that promise is delivered.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years managing product design teams with a proven track record simplifying data-dense, power-user workflows into elegant solutions for B2B contexts. You're deeply customer-centric, grounding decisions in real user needs and business impact. You're fluent in how AI is changing design practice and tooling, building AI-native workflows for your team. Experience designing for agentic platforms and excitement about shaping interaction patterns for AI and human-in-the-loop systems is essential. You balance speed and quality, prioritize ruthlessly, and communicate effectively with leaders and front-line PMs alike.
