Axios is seeking a Senior Producer to lead the development and execution of original video content for its award-winning news platform. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role spanning ideation, scripting, production, post-production, publishing, and audience growth across YouTube, social, and digital platforms.
You will produce original Axios video programming, including The Axios Show and other editorial video formats. Working closely with editorial, video, social, audience, revenue, and external production partners, you'll transform strong ideas into compelling, visually engaging video content that aligns with Axios' distinctive voice and editorial standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing video from concept through scripting, shooting, post-production, publishing, and promotion
- Developing creative concepts into pitches, treatments, scripts, shot lists, and production materials
- Leading or supporting field, studio, and remote-based productions
- Collaborating with journalists, executives, on-camera talent, and internal teams
- Coordinating work across freelancers, contractors, vendors, and production partners
- Creating video optimized for YouTube and digital platforms, with attention to packaging, retention, and distribution
- Using platform trends and performance insights to inform creative decisions and grow audience
- Managing multiple projects, deadlines, and production schedules in a fast-moving environment
You bring 5–7+ years of professional video production, journalism, digital media, broadcast, documentary, or branded-content experience. You have demonstrated expertise producing, shooting, and editing professional video, supported by a strong portfolio or reel. You possess strong editorial judgment, visual storytelling skills, and experience producing for YouTube with understanding of audience development, search/discovery, retention, and platform-native storytelling. You're equally comfortable developing treatments, directing shoots, editing finished pieces, managing timelines, and working with on-camera talent.
