Salary: USD 126,000 - 167,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Senior Procurement Sourcing Engineer to drive strategic supply network development and cost management for the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team. This role bridges procurement, engineering, quality, and manufacturing to optimize the product hardware lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct supplier selection leveraging approved supplier lists and drive strategic supplier partnerships
- Partner with suppliers on concept scoping, design trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint design development
- Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing teams to support production ramp with high flexibility
- Manage CAPEX throughout new product introduction (NPI) phases
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Complete BOM risk assessments and identify alternate component sourcing strategies
- Ensure all component qualifications are completed ahead of production
- Drive complexity reduction through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization
- Lead cost engineering activities to align bottoms-up cost curves with product targets, maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues including tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field; 5+ years in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement/development, or design of electronics/mechanical devices; domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO work at component and product levels; ability to travel up to 25%; willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL for on-site work.
Preferred qualifications include Master's degree, deeper experience in electronics/mechanical design, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, early supplier engagement, experience in highly regulated environments (especially energetics/solid rocket motor production), familiarity with high-mix low-volume product development, startup environment exposure, and ability to obtain/maintain U.S. TS clearance.
