Salary: CAD 106,300 - 143,800 / annual
Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, is seeking a Senior Privacy Analyst to join its Compliance team. This is a new role focused on operating, maturing, and scaling Clio's global privacy program across multiple jurisdictions.
You will ensure that Clio's products, processes, and data handling practices comply with international privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, and the Australia Privacy Act, while aligning with industry best practices. Working cross-functionally with Legal, Engineering, Security, IT, Marketing, HR, and Sales, you will embed privacy principles into company culture, product development, and procurement processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Program Management & Automation: Maintain and adapt privacy policies, procedures, and knowledge bases as the company scales.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable privacy laws in existing and emerging markets.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs) for new products and features.
- Policy & Training: Develop privacy training programs and coach junior team members on privacy-forward practices.
- Data Subject Rights: Manage DSAR (Data Subject Access Request) pipelines across all platforms in scope.
- Vendor Risk Management: Review third-party vendor privacy practices and support negotiation of Data Processing Agreements.
- Incident Response: Contribute to business continuity and incident response programs.
- Stay Current: Monitor evolving privacy laws, regulations, and enforcement trends globally.
You bring 5+ years of direct experience in privacy program management, data protection, or related legal/compliance roles. You hold privacy certifications (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT) and have demonstrated expertise in major global privacy regulations. You have proven experience developing privacy policies, conducting risk assessments, managing DSAR workflows, and working within technology or SaaS environments. Experience with AI-driven privacy risk assessment and data minimization is valued. Strong program management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.
