As Senior Legal Counsel, Contracts, you will join a 10-person Legal, Compliance & Risk team reporting to the Lead Legal Counsel, Contracts. This is a hands-on role combining legal rigor, creativity, and business pragmatism to secure Pennylane's commercial and operational relationships.
Key responsibilities include: drafting and negotiating international purchase orders and supplier agreements (with current focus on Germany); improving customer terms and conditions for SME customers across France and Europe; reviewing and negotiating agreements with integrators and resellers; anticipating contractual impacts of key regulations (e-invoicing, payment services, EU AI Act); structuring and improving internal contracting processes for efficiency and scalability; optimizing contract management tools (Tomorro, Pivot, Notion); identifying automation opportunities; and providing pragmatic legal advice to Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security, and Product teams.
You will work closely with Sales, Partnerships, Security, Finance, and Product teams to streamline contracting processes and build a strong legal culture across the organization.
Required qualifications: qualified lawyer or legal counsel with extensive contract law experience from law firms (IP/IT, technology, SaaS focus) or fast-growing tech companies; fluency in English and working knowledge of French and German; strong expertise in B2B SaaS agreements (IP, indemnification, liability caps, SLAs, data provisions); autonomous project management; multi-jurisdictional experience (France/Europe); interest in legal operations and technology; ability to balance speed with risk protection; and comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
