Used by over 500,000 patients worldwide and cleared in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, and Canada, HeartFlow is launching a major Platform Modernization initiative to power next-generation life-saving medical products.
We seek a Senior Platform Engineer specializing in Compute Migration to lead the strategic effort of migrating all existing AWS Lambda and ECS-based workloads to a next-generation Kubernetes platform. This is a high-impact role designing, implementing, and governing the transition of business-critical, event-driven workflows while optimizing for performance, cost, reliability, and security.
Key responsibilities include: defining technical roadmap and migration patterns for moving Lambda functions and ECS services to AWS EKS; developing scalable, automated solutions for event-driven, serverless-like workflows on Kubernetes using technologies like KEDA; using Terraform/Terragrunt and Helm to build and manage Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and deployment tooling; partnering with engineering teams to understand workload requirements and provide re-platforming consultation; benchmarking migrated services and implementing advanced observability solutions; and establishing best practices and documentation for sustainable post-migration operations.
Required: 8+ years in Platform, Infrastructure, or DevOps Engineering with large-scale compute migration experience; expert-level Kubernetes proficiency (design, deployment, operations, networking, security, scaling); deep hands-on AWS Lambda and ECS/Fargate experience; proven production workload migration from traditional cloud compute to Kubernetes; strong Infrastructure as Code background with Terraform; containerization (Docker) and modern CI/CD expertise; excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
Nice-to-have: KEDA or event-driven scaling experience; monorepo migration background; complex multi-quarter technical initiative leadership; Python or Go tooling development skills.
