As Senior People Business Partner, you'll be the operational backbone of CoLab's People function during a critical growth phase. This is a newly created role supporting the company's scaling across R&D business units and the broader organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning core people operations: onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance
- Serving as a trusted advisor to managers on team performance, feedback practices, and employee relations
- Leading or supporting performance reviews, total rewards initiatives, and policy updates
- Managing payroll administration and employee questions on policies and benefits
- Coordinating work permits, PR documentation, and cross-border employment logistics
- Supporting recruitment logistics including reference checks and scheduling
- Collaborating with the Employee Experience Lead on office operations and employee initiatives
You'll thrive in this role if you have 8+ years in People Ops, HRBP, or similar roles in high-growth environments. You need strong experience running onboarding, benefits, and compliance workflows, plus the ability to interpret and apply employment law. Self-direction, attention to detail, and clear communication are essential. Nice-to-haves include audit management experience, SaaS/startup background, and immigration support exposure.
The role is fully remote within Canada, with preference for Eastern, Atlantic, and Newfoundland Standard timezones. Compensation includes competitive salary, stock options, extended health coverage, unlimited paid vacation, and RRSP matching.
