Canva is seeking a Senior Operations Expert to join its Safety & Trust Operations (STOps) team. This is a high-trust, individual contributor role focused on keeping Canva's platform safe for over 150 million daily users.
You will lead complex abuse investigations across multiple categories including deceptive content, hate and discrimination, abuse and harassment, and child safety. You'll act as a point of contact for Tier 1 vendor support, providing quality escalations, training alignment, and policy reinforcement to vendor partners. You'll participate in red-teaming exercises to identify classifier blind spots, contribute to dataset labelling, evaluate classifier output, and support trust model tuning.
Additional responsibilities include leading or co-leading incident response with on-call participation and post-mortems, documenting patterns and trends from escalations to inform policy and product strategy, and representing STOps in cross-functional efforts with Content Safety, Abuse Insights, Account Integrity, and other teams.
This role involves regular exposure to sensitive and potentially distressing content, including child safety material. Canva provides dedicated wellbeing support, structured resilience practices, and access to counselling for team members in this function.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree OR 3+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, abuse operations, or fraud investigation
- Ability to own high-risk investigations with clarity and independence
- Familiarity with case investigation tooling (e.g., Castle or similar)
- Experience or genuine curiosity around AI readiness (data labelling, prompt testing, classifier feedback, red-teaming)
- Demonstrated ability to handle emotionally challenging content while maintaining strong self-care practices and personal resilience
- Effective collaboration across Policy, Product, Engineering, and Legal with ability to represent frontline operational perspective in strategic conversations
- Flexibility to participate in on-call rotation, including 24/7 coverage and holiday shifts based on operational needs
