Zipline is the world's largest autonomous drone delivery service, operating on four continents and completing millions of deliveries of blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products. The company is expanding US operations to deliver directly to homes across multiple states. Zipline's communications team shapes the company's story and impact through strategic storytelling and visual communication. We are seeking a Senior Motion Designer to bring Zipline's products, operations, and impact to life through animation and motion graphics. In this role, you will translate creative briefs, scripts, and technical concepts into storyboards, style frames, animatics, and polished motion work spanning social and brand video, product launches, explainers, events, web, and presentations. You will work closely with Communications, Brand, Social, Marketing, engineers, operators, a Video Producer, Cinematographer, and Editor. Key responsibilities include: - Design and animate motion graphics for social, brand video, product launches, technical explainers, and presentations - Translate briefs and technical information into storyboards, style frames, and final animation - Create clear visual explanations of Zipline's products and operations using typography, maps, diagrams, data, and 2D/3D animation - Develop titles, lower thirds, transitions, and graphic packages that integrate with live-action footage - Composite motion and visual effects, including screen replacements, tracked graphics, and cleanup - Collaborate with editors on timing, pacing, and delivery of motion assets - Partner with producers to estimate effort, confirm requirements, and deliver against production schedules - Apply Zipline's visual identity consistently across channels and formats - Work with engineers and subject-matter experts to represent products and workflows accurately - Build and maintain reusable templates, animation components, and documentation - Adapt work across durations, aspect ratios, resolutions, and regional versions - Maintain organized source files, naming conventions, and version history You bring 6+ years of professional motion design experience in in-house creative teams, agencies, studios, or production companies. You have a strong reel demonstrating motion craft, design judgment, visual storytelling, and range across 2D and 3D work. You are expert in Adobe After Effects and proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma. You have professional experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 3D packages including animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
