In this role, you'll create polished, player-focused narrative and creative content that brings game experiences to life. You'll be responsible for theming features from concept through delivery, making thoughtful creative contributions that support memorable player moments.
You'll work closely with cross-functional partners to understand product, seasonal, brand, and player goals. As an individual contributor, your primary focus will be day-to-day creative problem-solving tasks including executing content plans for features, events, and seasonal experiences; creating design documents and pitches; designing theming and narrative for sticker sets, minigames, and character designs; and maintaining consistency with the Monopoly brand and licensed IP partners.
You'll apply player empathy and game knowledge to create content that delivers delight and meaningful moments. Building productive relationships across disciplines is essential, as is staying aware of team priorities and adapting your work as needs evolve.
Required qualifications include 3+ years of professional experience in content design, game design, narrative design, game writing, or related disciplines. You should demonstrate strong creative problem-solving, resourcefulness, and strategic thinking, with a portfolio showing creative/narrative content and craft fundamentals. Experience with short-form writing (copywriting, UX writing), contributing to scoped creative work from concept through delivery, and strong understanding of how narrative and design choices impact player experience are essential. You must work effectively within technical constraints, brand restrictions, and game mechanics, with strong player empathy and ability to communicate complex creative ideas to stakeholders. Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Google Suite, Slack, Miro, and Airtable is expected, along with strong interest in mobile games and pop culture awareness. Bonus experience includes work in entertainment (film, animation, storyboarding, theater, theme parks) or visual arts.
