Bestow is a vertical technology platform serving major life insurers, modernizing the fragmented legacy value chain through AI and automation. The company enables carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years and is backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Hedosophia, NEA, Valar, and 8VC.
You will join the Agent Experience Team, responsible for designing how insurance agents, wholesalers, and back-office teams quote, illustrate, and initiate policies. This includes product illustrations for indexed universal life, agent distribution integrations (single sign-on, application pre-fill, case status, quoting and pricing), wholesaler and back-office workflows, and the front-half customer funnel leading into application and checkout.
This role is distinctive because your users are professionals with alternatives—agents will route business elsewhere if tools are slower than competitors. Additionally, much of your design work is externally visible and evaluated by carrier and distribution partners in live working sessions, making design impact highly visible.
You will report to the Senior Design Manager, New Business, and collaborate closely with the Staff Product Designer for New Business. You'll own end-to-end design execution for assigned initiatives, from problem framing and research through prototyping, validation, and implementation partnership.
Key responsibilities include: designing for multiple distinct user types (independent agents, wholesalers, internal back-office teams) with role-based permissions and data workflows; conducting user interviews, usability testing, and data analysis with external agents; shaping solutions in partnership with product managers when requirements are still forming; creating user flows, diagrams, Figma designs, and coded prototypes; navigating shared code repositories and iterating in IDEs with AI assistance; designing integration experiences where surfaces are partly determined by partner systems; and championing user-centered design in a regulated product where trust, accuracy, and compliance are paramount.
The team is prototype-first, working in Figma and coded prototypes often in shared repos alongside engineering and product. You'll use AI tooling to move faster without sacrificing judgment. This role emphasizes the shift from static handoffs to living prototypes, requiring concrete experience adapting workflow between canvas and code.
