Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems, AI, and computer vision. The Maritime team is fielding next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for seabed exploration, executing multi-million-dollar contracts while scaling manufacturing from large to extra-large vehicle platforms.
You will join the manufacturing operations team in Quonset Point, RI, responsible for optimizing production for quality, reliability, speed, and asset utilization while meeting critical customer and internal development timelines. This is a hands-on role where you'll take a data-driven approach to designing production workstations and manufacturing processes, collaborating across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Business Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, document, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new product development (NPI) and full-rate production, including process workflows and detailed work instructions
- Proactively identify production imbalances and bottlenecks caused by line layout, parts shortages, staffing constraints, and other factors by analyzing cycle time and quality metrics
- Provide technical guidance to production teams and act as liaison between engineering, supply chain, and other departments
- Collaborate with Quality to set standards, implement inspection processes, and ensure manufacturing capabilities align with requirements
- Organize and participate in workshops to solve complex manufacturing issues
- Foster a collaborative environment encouraging knowledge sharing and team engagement
- Promote health, safety, and regulatory compliance in the manufacturing environment
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, resource-limited environments, demonstrates ownership of operational challenges with creative solutions, and is flexible in supporting wherever needed to ensure products meet stringent quality standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing environments building complex electrical assemblies
- Solid understanding of hardware manufacturing processes for electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, battery power systems, cable harnesses) and electromechanical systems
- Demonstrated ability to own products in manufacturing from start to finish, coordinating among multiple internal and external parties to achieve on-time deliveries under stringent quality standards
- Experience analyzing material flow around facilities, including pull systems, Kanban, Min/Max calculations, part presentation to operators, and line-side racking
- Prior knowledge and interaction with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for production operations
- Prior knowledge of Oracle, NetSuite, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Strong technical ability to read technical documentation such as electrical schematic drawings and 3D CAD files
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Production line design and setup experience (Value Stream mapping, material flow lines, one-piece flow, workstation design)
- Experience with CAD and production simulation software (Solidworks, Siemens/Teamcenter/PlantSim/ProcessSim)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation
