Salary: USD 120,000 - 170,000 / annual
Aescape is a New York-based physical AI and robotics company redefining human recovery through intelligent, precision bodywork. You will own the manufacturing engineering effort that brings Aescape's products to life. This is a hands-on role where you'll develop repeatable, high-yield manufacturing and assembly processes, drive their implementation at contract manufacturers and key component suppliers, and provide direct support during builds. You'll ensure suppliers track the right metrics through NPI phases into production, giving clear visibility into cycle times and throughput issues. You'll sit within the Operations team, providing direct support to Quality and Reliability Testing while working closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering.
Key responsibilities include: developing repeatable, high-yield manufacturing and assembly processes for components and subassemblies; working hands-on with suppliers to set up and ramp production lines; participating in new product design to ensure manufacturability; supporting assembly and build of parts; defining and deploying manufacturing processes, workstation layouts, fixtures, and gauges at contract manufacturers; maintaining process documentation and SOPs; assembling and validating first-article components through NPI phases; leading failure analysis and root-cause investigations with suppliers and engineering teams; and supporting reliability and manufacturing test programs.
You'll bring strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on manufacturing engineering experience. You have direct experience driving performance at contract manufacturers and key suppliers, with a track record of implementing highly repeatable, high-yield processes across plastics molding, metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly. You've taken products through EVT/DVT/PVT or similar phase-gate processes into volume production. You're skilled at resolving supplier process, component, and assembly issues with structured root-cause analysis and corrective action, with solid grasp of statistical analysis (SPC, Cpk, Gauge R&R). You have strong verbal and written communication skills, experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools for fixture and process tooling design, and fluency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T. You're comfortable taking ownership of problems end-to-end, working with ambiguity in a fast-moving startup, and willing to take on tasks outside your core role. You're able to travel domestically and internationally.
REQUIREMENTS: BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline; 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a hardware product environment (robotics, consumer electronics, medical devices, or similar).
