Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the energy-first platform to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. As Senior Manager of Utility Contracts, you will own the full lifecycle of Crusoe's utility infrastructure agreements across its data center portfolio, from negotiation through ongoing obligation management.
You will lead negotiations of utility infrastructure agreements (construction, operating, transfer, and amendments) with serving utilities, coordinating with real estate, power engineering, legal, and finance teams. You'll maintain a comprehensive responsibility matrix for each project's agreement stack, tracking every obligation with its contractual cite, deadline, owner, and status. You'll run monthly deadline reviews, escalate at-risk items early, and ensure recurring obligations (reports, forecasts, certifications, payments) never slip.
As EDG's authority on utility requirements, you'll translate tariff provisions, end-user connection requirements, metering and interconnection specifications, Good Utility Practice, and NERC/RTO reliability obligations (load ride-through, UFLS, emergency operations, ramp rates) into actionable requirements for engineering and operations teams. You'll manage the contractual side of customer-build programs, including design package submittals, procurement compliance, commissioning and title transfer sequencing, easement and land-rights deliverables, and closeout obligations.
You'll serve as connective tissue between EDG, Real Estate, Power Engineering, Legal, Finance, and data center tenants on all utility agreement matters—from milestone payments and collateral postings to easement deliveries and operating protocols. You'll provide leadership with clear visibility into obligation status, upcoming deadlines, counterparty performance, and contract risks across the portfolio.
Required: 8+ years in the electric utility sector (at a utility or negotiating/managing utility agreements for large customers/developers), with direct experience in large-load interconnection, energy service agreements, and utility construction agreements. You need strong command of utility tariffs, interconnection processes, metering standards, and reliability obligations (NERC, RTO/ISO such as MISO, ERCOT, CAISO). Hands-on familiarity with EPC lifecycle (design, procurement, commissioning, closeout) is essential. Demonstrated success negotiating complex infrastructure agreements with utilities, exceptional contract management rigor, and ability to translate technical language for cross-functional teams required. Willing to relocate to Dallas, TX or San Francisco, CA.
