Preply is a unicorn edtech platform (Series D, $150M) that connects 100,000+ tutors teaching 90+ languages to learners in 180 countries. This role sits at the intersection of brand strategy, supply-side marketing, and community building, reporting to the Sr Director of Brand Strategy.
You will own the tutor brand narrative and positioning globally, ensuring Preply is perceived not just as a platform but as a long-term partner in tutors' professional growth. This is a strategic, expert-track leadership role focused on impact and influence rather than team size.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and evolve the brand narrative for the global tutor community, clarifying Preply's value proposition across different tutor personas and career stages.
• Lead educational and thought leadership initiatives that elevate Preply's reputation in the broader education ecosystem—including content channels, expert series, video programs, and scalable content ecosystems.
• Own budget and vendor relationships for tutor-facing content, including agencies and tutor ambassador programs.
• Shape how Preply communicates AI's role in teaching, translating the human-led, AI-enhanced vision into content that builds tutor confidence rather than anxiety.
• Define and own success metrics: tutor trust/NPS, retention among top-tier tutors, thought-leadership reach and engagement.
• Partner directly with Supply and Tutor Success teams on major narrative moments and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure consistency between brand promises and tutor experience across the platform.
You'll need 10+ years in brand communications, partner marketing, or community-focused roles in fast-paced tech environments. Strong strategic storytelling, positioning, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential. You should be comfortable driving outcomes through influence without direct reports, have deep community-building expertise, and understand LLMs and generative AI as tools for content optimization and scaling.
