Volta is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform backed by a $10B strategic partnership with a leading frontier AI lab, Series A funding from Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund. The company is building the infrastructure layer for the AI era, currently 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York with rapid growth expectations. This Senior Manager role reports to the VP of Tax and leads delivery on deals, structuring, and tax modelling for a fast-scaling, capital-intensive platform. It is a hands-on execution role combining technical tax expertise with commercial deal leadership. Key responsibilities include leading day-to-day tax workstreams on live transactions (fundraising, capital raises, infrastructure investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, financing); executing technical analysis and implementation of tax structures across corporate entities, investments, JVs, and debt/equity financing; coordinating tax due diligence and completion mechanics with Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate Development, Legal, and external advisers; and reviewing commercial and financing documentation from a tax perspective. The role owns the build and maintenance of tax models and supporting schedules for investments and transactions, including modelling cash-tax outcomes, tax depreciation, capital allowances, interest deductibility, loss utilisation, withholding taxes, repatriation, transfer-pricing charges, VAT, and restructuring/refinancing scenarios. The Senior Manager translates tax impact into cash flow, valuation, and investor returns for deal teams. Additional responsibilities include providing support to the compliance team on international tax matters, operating Volta's tax governance framework and controls, maintaining documentation for tax positions and intercompany arrangements, managing relationships with Big Four and legal advisers, and acting as the day-to-day tax contact for Finance, Legal, Capital Markets, Corporate Development, and Strategy. The role includes mentoring junior team members as the function scales and identifying automation opportunities. Required experience includes Big Four Senior Manager to Associate Director level or in-house equivalent, with hands-on execution of complex cross-border deals. Professional qualification required: CTA, ACA, CA, or equivalent. Candidates should have solid technical grounding in international corporate tax (transfer pricing, withholding taxes, permanent establishment, tax-treaty matters), proven tax-modelling ability, and experience coordinating multi-jurisdiction compliance. Desirable background includes private equity, infrastructure funds, real assets, or energy sectors.
