Chainguard is a venture-backed software supply-chain security company delivering hardened, secure builds of open source software. The company is scaling rapidly with customers including Fortune 500 enterprises and global leaders like OpenAI, Snap, and Snowflake.
This Senior Manager role owns the tax and treasury functions as Chainguard expands internationally and scales. You will be a hands-on builder responsible for establishing and maintaining the infrastructure, policies, and processes that support these critical finance operations.
Key responsibilities include: managing US federal, state, and international tax compliance in partnership with external advisors; overseeing indirect tax (sales/use tax, VAT, digital services tax) and tax engine configuration; preparing tax provisions and financial statement disclosures; serving as primary contact for tax authority audits and notices; owning transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements; advising the business on tax implications of new products, pricing, contracts, and international expansion; identifying and pursuing tax credits including R&D credits; monitoring global tax legislation; owning banking relationships and serving as primary banking contact; managing global cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity; developing and maintaining treasury policies including investment guidelines and FX risk management; maintaining banking compliance and access controls; partnering with Deal Desk and Legal on contract structuring; and building scalable processes and controls as the company grows.
You will be the go-to subject matter expert for tax and treasury across the organization, translating technical concepts into practical business guidance. This is a role for someone who wants to build foundational finance infrastructure at a high-growth, well-funded company operating at the intersection of open source, security, and AI.
