Ramp is building intelligent financial infrastructure for enterprise finance teams, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. The company handles payment authorization, risk flagging, spend categorization, and financial close processes at scale.
As Senior Manager of Strategic Technical Consulting, you will lead Ramp's post-sales technical delivery team focused on the company's largest and most complex accounts. You own end-to-end technical implementation—from discovery and solution design through go-live, adoption, and expansion—partnering closely with the Customer Activation team to drive time-to-value and customer success.
Strategic customers arrive with multi-entity structures, legacy ERP systems, in-flight finance transformations, and executive sponsors who expect a named technical leader. Your team serves as the final escalation point for technical and delivery challenges; there is no tier above you.
Key responsibilities include: leading and growing a team of senior and principal-level consultants; owning hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development; managing post-sales implementation for the largest accounts with accountability for solution quality, timelines, and outcomes; co-owning activation milestones with Customer Activation through a joint operating model; serving as terminal escalation for complex technical challenges (ERP integrations, custom API work, at-risk go-lives); defining the Strategic delivery model including scoping standards, solution design review, and quality bars; running the function with operational rigor through forecasting, workload balancing, and KPI instrumentation; partnering cross-functionally with leadership across Customer Activation, Sales, Product, Engineering, and GTM Ops; synthesizing field insights to influence product roadmap; and making sound decisions in ambiguous, high-stakes situations while documenting reasoning for team learning.
You need 8+ years in technical consulting, solutions architecture, implementation, or professional services with substantial enterprise/strategic account experience. You must have 3+ years managing individual contributors with proven success managing senior or principal-level ICs. Deep fluency in ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, Workday Financials, Microsoft Dynamics), APIs, SSO/HRIS integrations, and core accounting workflows is essential. You can assess and guide enterprise-complexity solution design, distinguish between configuration problems, product gaps, and customer process issues, and build operating models between functions with shared accountability. Executive-grade communication skills are critical—you can hold rooms with CFOs and Controllers, advocate for your team, and translate technical trade-offs into business consequences. You demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguity and ownership bias in fast-changing, high-growth environments.
Nice-to-have experience includes roles at ERP/financial systems vendors (Workday, NetSuite/Oracle, Sage Intacct, Coupa), Big 4 or systems integrator implementation practices, fintech or spend management backgrounds, standing up or scaling technical consulting functions from early stage, and managing managers or building technical IC career ladders.
