Temporal is an open-source programming model that simplifies code, improves application reliability, and helps developers deliver features faster. The company is building the reliable foundation for every developer's toolbox.
You will lead a team of Solutions Architects within Temporal's New Logo organization, responsible for building, coaching, and scaling a high-performing pre-sales technical team focused on landing new enterprise customers on Temporal Cloud. Your team partners closely with Strategic Account Executives throughout the acquisition motion, helping prospective customers evaluate the suitability of their applications for Temporal's platform, understand the technical advantages of the cloud service, and build the technical conviction needed to become a customer.
Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing Solutions Architects; establishing clear performance expectations, coaching rhythms, and career development paths; and fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer obsession. You'll partner closely with New Logo Sales leadership to develop and execute account-based acquisition strategies, ensuring thorough technical discovery to identify the right use cases for prospects evaluating Temporal for the first time.
You'll prioritize team resources against the highest-impact opportunities, balancing pipeline coverage, deal quality, technical complexity, and conversion likelihood. You'll bring rigor and repeatability to the pre-sales process from qualification through technical win, while serving as an escalation point on complex, competitive, or high-value engagements.
Technically, you'll guide the team in positioning Temporal against competing technologies and alternative architectural patterns. You'll maintain hands-on understanding of Temporal's product, architecture, supported languages, cloud service, roadmap, and engineering developments. You'll ensure demonstrations are grounded in customer discovery rather than generic walkthroughs, and act as a voice of the prospect and market back into Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Developer Relations.
Cross-functional collaboration is essential: you'll work with Sales Development, Marketing, Developer Relations, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to support target-account strategies, field events, pipeline generation, and seamless transitions from close to onboarding. You'll convert lessons from evaluations into reusable playbooks, objection handling, demos, and enablement content.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical credibility with a proven track record of leading solutions-oriented teams in open-source or developer-infrastructure companies. You understand enterprise acquisition, complex technical sales cycles, and the importance of rigorous qualification and technical discovery. You bring intellectual curiosity, process discipline, urgency, and strategic mindset to sales engagements.
