Salary: USD 175,600 - 283,100 / annual

Camunda is hiring a Senior Manager, QA Engineering to lead end-to-end QA strategy for Camunda 8, a platform for agentic orchestration trusted by over 700 organizations including 9 of the top 10 US banks. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. You will manage two teams (functional and reliability testing) comprising 12 individual contributors, a principal engineer, and a manager. Your responsibilities include owning and driving QA strategy for Camunda 8, establishing quality gates and cross-team accountability, and partnering with principal engineering to mature reliability, performance, and resilience testing across Kubernetes, cloud, and bare-metal environments. Key deliverables include developing actionable quality metrics, dashboards, and reports that inform leadership and roadmap decisions; guiding automation strategy and QA processes to enable efficient high-quality delivery; and leading QA teams while evolving structure for scale. You will influence cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, product, UX, documentation, field) to embed quality across the organization. Required experience includes a proven track record leading QA in engineering organizations of 100–500 people with measurable impact; ability to define and implement end-to-end QA strategy, quality gates, and data-informed decision-making across multiple teams; comfort balancing hands-on QA execution with strategic leadership; and experience leveling up QA for complex technical products including developer/admin persona coverage and high-load, performance, and resilience testing. Enterprise software and workflow automation background is essential. Nice-to-haves include deep understanding of Kubernetes, cloud, microservices, hands-on experience with Playwright or TestRail, chaos engineering or advanced reliability benchmarking, and proven ability to drive cultural change in QA. Compensation is competitive and location-based. US salary ranges from $175,600 to $283,100 annually (base + variable). Equity offered through Virtual Stock Option Plan.
