ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Manager of Performance Management to own the company's performance evaluation framework and calibration processes. This is a strategic HR role that bridges business logic, employee experience, and technology.
You will own ServiceNow's performance evaluation framework, including rating definitions, behavioral expectations by level, and standards that ensure consistent and meaningful assessments. You'll define and maintain the philosophical underpinnings of performance evaluation in alignment with the Center of Excellence's design principles and broader performance management strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Compensation to ensure evaluation outcomes connect logically to rewards decisions
- Strategically designing AI-assisted evaluation process components that improve consistency and reduce bias while keeping human judgment central
- Designing and governing the calibration process to align performance assessments across teams and business units
- Collaborating with enablement teams to create facilitation guides, pre-work materials, and decision-making frameworks for calibration sessions
- Working with Product and Digital Transformation to enhance the Year-End Evaluation tool for peer reviews and calibrated outcomes
- Identifying and addressing systemic calibration inconsistencies across the business
You will operate in a co-ownership model where the Center of Excellence defines the "what and why" while Product owns the "how and when." You'll bring a consulting mindset, diagnosing what senior leaders actually need. The role requires strong cross-functional partnership across HR, Compensation, HR Business Partners, Product, and technology teams.
Success means your frameworks are adopted and used because they're valuable, calibration sessions produce consistent and defensible outcomes, and employees gain transparent insight into their performance and rewards.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in performance management, talent management, HR strategy, or related field, including ownership of enterprise programs or processes
- Deep expertise in performance evaluation and calibration, including rating frameworks, assessment standards, and approaches supporting fair, consistent, meaningful decisions
- Proven experience translating performance philosophy and strategy into practical frameworks, processes, tools, and leader guidance
- Strong consulting mindset with experience advising senior HR and business leaders on complex or sensitive talent decisions
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional work across HR, Compensation, HR Business Partners, Product, and technology teams
- Experience designing and scaling global processes while accounting for business, employee, and regional needs
- Strong analytical judgment using qualitative and quantitative insights to identify inconsistencies, evaluate effectiveness, and improve outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, making complex concepts clear and actionable for different audiences
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining close to execution, proactively identifying risks and driving work to completion
- Curiosity about how AI and emerging technology can improve performance processes, strengthen consistency, and reduce bias while preserving human judgment
