Thuma is seeking a Senior Manager of People Operations to expand and elevate its HR foundation. This role owns the full spectrum of people operations—from HRIS administration and system configuration to compliance, benefits, compensation, and employee experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own Rippling end-to-end: configuration, integrations, permissions, approvals, and serve as the internal super user for troubleshooting and training. Build out new modules including ATS and headcount planning.
- Oversee performance review cycles and reimagine feedback mechanisms, building tools that make feedback natural for managers and employees.
- Develop compensation guidance, leveling tools, and job structures aligned with business needs. Generate market compensation data reports and job pricing.
- Administer leaves of absence, renewals, onboarding paperwork, and workflows with a focus on accuracy and smooth employee experience.
- Own intranet content and internal People communications, ensuring employees stay informed and can easily find answers.
- Maintain data hygiene across the HRIS through regular audits and error-prevention processes.
- Manage I-9, E-Verify, immigration compliance, open enrollment, and benefits administration. Hold vendors accountable to results.
- Build reporting that gives leadership clear visibility into people metrics.
- Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to simplify manual work and free up time for higher-value initiatives.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Payroll to keep processes and data aligned across systems.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in people operations and HRIS; 3+ years in a management role.
- Experience implementing new systems and processes with high impact and adoption.
- Deep hands-on experience owning an HRIS (Rippling strongly preferred).
- Obsessive about data hygiene and accuracy.
- Generalist expertise across benefits, compliance, immigration, performance management, leave of absence administration, and 401(k).
- Comfortable having difficult conversations with vendors and holding them accountable.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to make complex processes clear to employees and leadership.
- Strong follow-through; someone who closes the loop on every commitment.
- Genuine interest in using AI tools to improve people operations, talent, and technology workflows.
