Coursera and Udemy have merged to create a unified skills platform serving 300+ million learners and 12,000+ enterprise customers. As Senior Marketing Manager based in Japan, you will be the on-the-ground marketing owner for the region and strategic liaison with partner Benesse, ensuring alignment on strategy and execution.
You will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies driving growth across the B2B market in Japan, leveraging the combined strengths of Udemy and Benesse. This is a hybrid strategic and hands-on role that requires fluidity between big-picture planning and direct execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as primary strategic liaison between Udemy and Benesse, driving joint campaign execution across Japan
- Develop comprehensive marketing strategies that leverage both organizations' resources for B2B segment growth
- Plan and coordinate multi-channel marketing campaigns integrating both companies' capabilities
- Design and implement demand generation programs creating qualified leads and accelerating pipeline growth
- Own end-to-end field event management (conferences, webinars, trade shows, customer events)
- Develop customer marketing programs including advocacy, case studies, and retention/expansion campaigns
- Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between Udemy and Benesse teams
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and regional partners
- Analyze campaign performance and partnership effectiveness to optimize strategies and demonstrate ROI
- Manage marketing budgets and resource allocation across all initiatives
You will need strong marketing strategy skills, campaign planning expertise, demand generation experience, partnership management capabilities, and hands-on field marketing and events execution ability. The ideal candidate moves fluidly between strategy and execution, developing innovative approaches that maximize impact in the Japanese market.
