GitLab is seeking a Senior Manager of Internal Audit focused on Audit Automation & Technology Risk to anchor internal audit operations in Bangalore and lead three connected areas: audit automation and innovation, people and operations for the India hub, and support of the technology risk audit program. Reporting to the VP of Internal Audit, you will help position Internal Audit as a strategic partner that gives leaders practical risk insight and helps the business improve.
You will pioneer data analytics, AI-assisted workflows, and automation across the Internal Audit function; support the performance and development of India-based audit team members; and partner closely with US-based technology audit leadership. You will oversee Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) testing performed by a co-source partner in Bangalore and build trusted relationships with engineering, information security, and IT leaders.
Key responsibilities include: leading the design and adoption of AI-assisted workflows, data analytics, and automation across audit planning, evidence gathering, analysis, execution, and risk monitoring; overseeing the Bangalore-based co-source provider and day-to-day execution of SOX testing; partnering with audit project leaders to identify opportunities to improve audit coverage, efficiency, and risk insight; building relationships with India-based engineering, information security, and IT leaders; owning assigned technology audit topics from scoping through reporting; overseeing audit delivery across the India-based team through planning, delegation, coaching, and quality assurance; hiring, onboarding, developing, and retaining India-based audit team members; and translating audit findings into clear business impact.
Required experience includes: technology audit and risk management with team leadership or distributed audit delivery experience; SOX internal controls expertise including risk assessment, control scoping, testing program oversight, and deficiency analysis; data analytics, SQL, Python, or similar tools for audit automation; curiosity about AI agents and automation tools; knowledge of DevSecOps platforms, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD risk, IT operations, and cybersecurity frameworks; technology audit design and execution in fast-moving environments; and experience leading or developing distributed, cross-geo teams with ability to bridge India and US working styles across time zones.
