Airbnb's Fraud & Safety Investigations (FSI) team is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Intelligence & Advocacy function, which comprises two teams: Fraud Intelligence (FRINT) and Global Trust Advocacy (GTA). You will report directly to the Director of Fraud and Safety Investigations and sit on the FSI leadership team.
In this role, you will manage the Fraud Intelligence manager and three Global Trust Advocacy regional leads covering APAC, EMEA, and LATAM. You'll own three core outcomes:
1. Proactive Intelligence: Lead the FRINT team to identify and disrupt novel fraud threats before they scale. This involves detecting anomalies, analyzing fraud networks and threat actor methodologies, implementing real-time mitigations via detection rules and live rules engines, and reporting findings to leadership and cross-functional partners.
2. Regional Compliance & Advocacy: Serve as the authoritative voice on regional legal requirements, local compliance, and cultural nuances across FSI queues. Ensure global enforcement strategies adapt appropriately for local markets and advocate for localized solutions that enable regional growth.
3. Global-to-Local Translation: Ensure every global playbook, product launch, and policy lands cleanly in local markets without creating compliance risk or negatively impacting user experience. Lead structured stakeholder engagement with Country Managers, regional business leads, Legal, Public Policy, and Supply teams across APAC, EMEA, and LATAM through QBRs, forums, and recurring syncs.
You will also influence cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and Public Policy teams to ensure FSI's proactive intelligence and regional needs are represented early in planning. You'll communicate complex fraud intelligence and regional compliance considerations to executive audiences and serve as a thought partner to FSI leadership peers.
The role is remote-eligible within the US, though occasional office work or offsites may be required as agreed with your manager. You must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years of experience in trust and safety, fraud intelligence, risk operations, or a related field, with a track record spanning both deep analytical work and cross-functional leadership
- 5+ years managing teams, including experience managing managers; demonstrated ability to build team capability, set clear expectations, and develop people toward greater autonomy and scope
- Demonstrated experience in fraud intelligence, risk strategy, or threat analysis; understanding of how fraud actors operate, how detection systems work, and what it takes to stay ahead of evolving tactics
- Deep understanding of regional and international trust and safety dynamics; experience navigating local legal requirements, regulatory landscapes, and cultural nuances across multiple markets
- Strong cross-functional influence skills; ability to build credibility with regional business leaders, Legal, Policy, and Product partners, and translate FSI needs into language that moves roadmaps and decisions
- Analytical depth; ability to interpret large volumes of data, surface insight from ambiguous signals, and build compelling cases from quantitative and qualitative inputs
- Clear, direct communicator; ability to produce authoritative intelligence products and present regional risk assessments to executive audiences with confidence and precision
- Experience operating in global, distributed team environments across time zones, cultures, and organizational contexts
- Familiarity with fraud detection tooling, rules engines, or intelligence platforms is a strong plus
