Anthropic is seeking a Senior Manager, Infrastructure Asset Accounting to lead the accounting function for the company's massive infrastructure asset portfolio. You will own end-to-end accounting for infrastructure assets across their full lifecycle—from semiconductor chips, memory, and networking components moving through the supply chain, to racks, clusters, and data center buildouts supporting Anthropic's $50B+ investment in American computing infrastructure.
In this role, you will be responsible for component cost accumulation, prepayments and deposits, construction-in-progress tracking, transfer to fixed assets at deployment, and asset disposal. You'll build and maintain detailed transaction flows mapping how assets and costs move from purchase order through shipment, receipt, warehousing, integration, deployment, and in-service. As sourcing models evolve, you'll keep these flows current and evaluate accounting implications of new and non-standard supplier arrangements, documenting conclusions in technical memos.
You'll apply deep technical accounting expertise under ASC 360 (capitalization, useful lives, impairment, disposals, asset retirement obligations) alongside cost accounting concepts such as bill-of-materials costing, landed cost, and obsolescence reserves. You'll partner with Supply Chain, Data Center Operations, Legal, and Finance during contract negotiation to ensure accounting implications are understood before commitments are made.
Key responsibilities include serving as a trusted finance partner to non-finance stakeholders, explaining financial statement impacts in clear terms; collaborating cross-functionally to improve upstream data pipelines and component tracking at the serial-number level; designing and scaling systems, processes, and controls for a rapidly growing portfolio; mentoring accounting professionals on the Infrastructure Accounting team; serving as a key point of contact with external auditors; and driving process improvements and automation using AI tooling.
You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred), strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 360 applied to infrastructure and data center assets, applied experience with cost accounting in supply chain contexts, hands-on experience building end-to-end transaction flows and subledger designs, and a track record of improving scalable financial processes in fast-moving environments. Experience mentoring accounting professionals, translating technical concepts for non-finance stakeholders, and partnering with supply chain and operations teams is essential. Preferred: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience at technology, hardware, manufacturing, or infrastructure-heavy companies, ideally at hyperscalers or semiconductor firms.
