Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the next generation of data centers optimized for AI compute. The company owns and operates the full stack from energy generation through cloud services, with a mission to solve the power bottleneck constraining AI workload deployment. You will lead day-to-day critical infrastructure operations at MSP-4, Crusoe's 20 MW AI-optimized data center in Shakopee, MN, with planned expansion to 40 MW. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring accountability for 24/7 operational readiness across all critical systems: electrical distribution (switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs), mechanical systems (CRAH/CRAC, chillers, cooling towers, liquid/direct-to-chip cooling), fire/life safety, and BMS/EPMS monitoring platforms. Key responsibilities include: owning uptime, safety, and operational excellence; maintaining and improving Methods of Procedure, Emergency Operating Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures; driving root cause analysis on incidents and near-misses; and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. You will build and manage a lean, cross-trained operations team (facility engineers, technicians) sized for the current 20 MW footprint with a clear scaling plan for 40 MW expansion. This includes defining staffing ratios, shift structures, on-call coverage models, recruiting and developing technical talent, and managing vendor/subcontractor relationships. You will serve as the operations stakeholder in the capacity expansion, partnering with Design, Construction, and Commissioning teams to integrate new capacity without disrupting live production. You will champion a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, electrical safety programs, and local/state regulations. You will own site-level KPIs (uptime, PUE, MTTR/MTBF, PM completion, safety metrics), provide regular reporting to corporate leadership, and manage the site OpEx budget. Required: minimum 5 years managing data center operations with direct responsibility for critical infrastructure; demonstrated experience building or optimizing lean staffing models; strong knowledge of electrical distribution and mechanical cooling systems; team management experience in 24/7 environments; working knowledge of BMS/EPMS/DCIM platforms; familiarity with NFPA 70E and OSHA; strong incident management discipline; Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent. Preferred: experience with high-density AI/GPU compute, liquid or direct-to-chip cooling, live capacity expansion/brownfield build-out, Uptime Institute credentials (ATD/ADOS, CDCP/CDCS), and Upper Midwest utility/regulatory environment knowledge (Xcel Energy territory). On-site role requiring availability for on-call rotation and ability to respond during critical incidents in a data center environment.
