Salary: USD 185,000 - 215,000 / annual
Altana is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to lead the transformation of the company's accounting operations through AI-driven solutions and process optimization. Reporting to the Controller, you will manage a lean accounting team while overseeing the monthly close process, NetSuite administration, and cross-functional financial workflows.
Key responsibilities include embedding AI solutions into accounting workflows, implementing software integrations to streamline reporting, and supporting SOX readiness initiatives. You will own the month-end close process as the primary reviewer, serve as the internal NetSuite expert managing workflows and reporting, and partner with IT and Finance leadership on system upgrades and implementations. You'll identify control gaps, strengthen the control environment, and streamline allocations across business verticals.
You will manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, setting priorities and fostering accountability and continuous improvement. You'll serve as the primary contact for external and internal auditors, coordinating requests and managing audit cycles.
Additionally, you will oversee the procure-to-pay cycle from vendor onboarding through payment execution, partnering with Procurement, Operations, and Legal to streamline workflows and improve process efficiency. You'll also manage the quote-to-cash function, collaborating with Sales and Customer Success to resolve billing discrepancies, automate billing processes, and administer the customer billing system.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a management or team lead role. Strong NetSuite proficiency (3+ years preferred) with report customization and saved search experience is essential. You must have experience leading monthly close processes, managing procure-to-pay workflows, and administering customer billing systems. A BA/BS in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA preferred. Experience with tools like Navan, Tipalti, and Maxima is a plus.
The role is currently based in Brooklyn, NY, with a planned office relocation to Midtown Manhattan in Summer 2027. Candidates must be within commuting distance of both current and future office locations.
