Remote is a global HR platform enabling organizations to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
In this role, you will independently manage complex, end-to-end employee exits and offboarding processes across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision. You'll handle terminations, resignations, transfers, redundancy processes, and employment contract matters while ensuring strict legal compliance and delivering exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include leading and facilitating meetings with clients and employees (including workforce reduction consultations and termination negotiations), drafting and administering termination documents, processing offboarding in Remote's HRIS platform, and coordinating with internal stakeholders (payroll, legal, benefits, time & attendance) and external parties (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel).
Beyond offboarding, you'll provide first-level Employee Relations support, conducting preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, guiding clients through progressive discipline and documentation requirements, and serving as a trusted resource for complex HR scenarios. You'll also mentor junior team members, providing expertise and guidance, and drive process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals.
This is a fully remote position with a global scope. The role requires deep knowledge of employment law across key jurisdictions, excellent judgment in navigating competing stakeholder interests, and a commitment to both compliance excellence and customer delight. You'll work asynchronously with a distributed team across 6 continents, bringing innovation and automation thinking to every challenge.
