Remote is a global HR platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
You will independently manage complex end-to-end employee exits and offboarding processes across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Separations**: Manage and resolve complex employee exits, providing sound guidance on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. Draft, tailor, and administer all termination and supplementary documents with strict attention to detail and legal compliance.
**Employee Relations Support**: Provide first-level employee relations guidance to clients navigating workplace concerns. Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identify applicable local regulations, and recommend appropriate paths forward. Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation requirements, and best practices for handling difficult situations.
**Stakeholder Coordination**: Liaise with and coordinate internal and external stakeholders (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions) to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits. Process offboarding on Remote's HRIS platform, collaborating across Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments.
**Team Leadership & Mentorship**: Act as a trusted escalation point and mentor to junior team members, providing expertise and guidance. Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives aligned with Remote's values and goals.
This role requires deep knowledge of international employment law, excellent judgment in complex situations, and the ability to navigate competing stakeholder interests. You'll work asynchronously with a distributed global team and directly influence Remote's ability to sustain compliance coverage, enhance customer experiences, and increase operational capacity.
