Gusto is seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own the lifecycle marketing strategy for its accountant and bookkeeper channel. In this hands-on builder role, you will shape how Gusto engages, retains, and grows relationships with accountants and bookkeepers who serve as the company's indirect channel to small businesses, primarily through email and webinar communications.
You will partner closely with Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, Data Science, AI Ops, and Brand/Creative teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality partner experience with measurable impact on engagement, retention, and growth. The Customer Lifecycle Marketing team owns how Gusto engages its existing customer and partner relationships via email, webinar, and lifecycle programs.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Planning, building, QA-ing, launching, and reporting on email campaigns for the accountant/indirect channel using both third-party tools and Gusto's proprietary agentic email tool
- Owning the health of the webinar program: calendar management, stakeholder collaboration, production, promotion, follow-up, and reporting
- Building and continuously improving AI-powered/agentic workflows for segmentation, personalization, and reporting
- Partnering with Product Marketing, Community Marketing, Analytics, and Product to plan and prioritize the channel roadmap
- Analyzing campaign and program performance, running tests, and bringing forward recommendations on channel health
Gusto is on a mission to grow the small business economy by handling payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR so owners can focus on their craft. The company supports more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide with teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs). AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto, and all team members are expected to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role.
Hybrid work: employees based in Denver, San Francisco, or New York will be expected to work from the office approximately 2-3 days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of experience in lifecycle, growth, CRM, or channel/partner marketing
- Hands-on experience with an enterprise-level marketing automation platform (Marketo or Iterable strongly preferred; other enterprise tools considered)
- Demonstrated experience building and directing AI-powered or agentic workflows for real marketing tasks, not just using AI as a drafting assistant
- Proven end-to-end ownership of email campaigns and webinar production programs
- Strong copyediting/copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice across audiences
- Cross-functional collaboration experience across Product Marketing, Analytics, and Product teams
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
