Read AI is seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to build and own the complete customer lifecycle system—transforming millions of new accounts into activated, retained, and expanding customers. This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on infrastructure, programs, experimentation, and measurement across onboarding, activation, feature discovery, habit formation, monetization, reactivation, renewal, and expansion. You will not be executing email campaigns; instead, you'll architect the strategy and systems behind them. You'll own the lifecycle platform implementation, moving priority journeys off legacy systems and establishing naming conventions, suppression rules, frequency policies, approval workflows, and QA standards. You'll define the event, profile, account, plan, and usage data needed for segmentation and personalization, partnering closely with Engineering and Data teams on instrumentation, identity resolution, and measurement. Key responsibilities include mapping the journey from account creation through calendar connection, first hosted meeting, first recap, and repeat usage. You'll identify and build targeted programs for specific drop-off points (registered but no calendar, connected but never hosted, received recap but didn't return, used once and went quiet). You'll run coordinated in-product and out-of-product activation experiments with Product, helping users understand Read's value without adding friction. You'll build behavioral journeys that drive repeat meetings and adoption of high-value capabilities, personalizing feature discovery based on what users have and haven't experienced. You'll coordinate email, in-product messaging, content, and webinars across roles, workflows, and maturity levels. For monetization, you'll connect demonstrated product value to paid capabilities (free-to-paid, Pro-to-workspace, monthly-to-annual, workspace expansion) and build interventions for churn risk, inactivity, and renewal. Experimentation and measurement are central: you'll maintain a prioritized roadmap with clear hypotheses, audiences, outcomes, guardrails, and decision rules. You'll test across content, timing, trigger, channel, frequency, and offer—measuring incremental behavior and revenue change, not vanity metrics. You'll own QA across audience selection, rendering, links, personalization, localization, tracking, and suppression, while maintaining deliverability, consent, privacy, and preference management. Read AI is a rapidly scaling AI company ($82M in venture funding) building intelligent systems that transform how teams communicate across meetings, messaging, and email. The company is adding over 1 million new customers monthly and was recognized as a Top Startup in Seattle and a Top Company To Watch in 2025. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years in lifecycle, CRM, retention, or growth marketing for high-volume SaaS (tens of millions to hundreds of millions of monthly sends), PLG, consumer, or prosumer products - Hands-on experience with Sendgrid, Customer.io, Iterable, Braze, HubSpot, Klaviyo, or comparable platforms—including implementing or substantially rebuilding infrastructure, not just operating established programs - Demonstrated measurable improvements in activation, retention, conversion, renewal, or expansion - Strong grasp of behavioral segmentation, triggered messaging, experimentation, and cohort analysis, plus quantitative instincts to distinguish correlation from incremental impact - Comfort defining events, requirements, and measurement alongside engineers and data teams - Excellent writing skills and experience coordinating email with in-product surfaces - Working knowledge of deliverability, consent, localization, and campaign QA - Strongly preferred: experience connecting self-serve usage to workspace or enterprise adoption
