AirOps is hiring its first Head of Legal to build and lead the legal function as the company scales. You'll serve as the primary legal advisor to the executive team, working across Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and People to support strategic initiatives, customer negotiations, and operational matters.
Key responsibilities include establishing legal strategy, policies, and operating procedures; building scalable templates, playbooks, and contracting workflows; and implementing legal technology and AI-assisted workflows. You'll draft, review, and negotiate enterprise SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, SOWs, partnerships, reseller agreements) while partnering with Sales and Finance to accelerate deal cycles. You'll advise on commercial issues including pricing, liability allocation, indemnification, and data rights.
A critical part of the role is advising on AI, data, and product matters. You'll partner with Product and Engineering throughout the product lifecycle, developing practical guidance on privacy, data protection, security, advertising, consumer protection, and emerging AI regulation. You'll support product launches, integrations, and expansion into new markets while monitoring legal developments in AI, search, content, and marketing technology.
You'll also handle corporate and operational matters including governance, Board matters, equity administration, financings, investor diligence, intellectual property strategy, employment and benefits, insurance, disputes, compliance, and risk management. You'll build the legal team and infrastructure needed to support growth.
The role emphasizes judgment, ownership, and clear communication. You should be comfortable making progress with incomplete information, identifying what evidence supports, and helping the business decide next steps. You'll turn open-ended business questions into clear analyses and recommendations, communicate conclusions directly, and embed with teams on strategic initiatives while preserving the company's speed and culture.
