Verkada is seeking a Senior Leave of Absence Associate to own and elevate its global leave administration programs. This role is central to supporting employees through critical life moments—parental leave, medical leave, military service, workers' compensation, and statutory leaves across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions. You will administer the full portfolio of leave programs globally, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, and country-specific statutory requirements. You'll manage the complete leave lifecycle from intake through return-to-work, develop and scale international leave processes as Verkada expands into new markets, and serve as the primary liaison with disability carriers (STD/LTD) on claims and benefits continuation. A critical component of this role is calculating leave top-ups and salary continuation for complex variable-compensation scenarios (sales commissions, quota, draws) with offsets from state benefits and disability payments. You'll perform pay audits each payroll cycle for employees on leave, partnering closely with Payroll. You will standardize Verkada's leave processes with documented policies and workflows, partner with the HRIS/People Tech team to enhance Workday leave functionality and implement automation, and build LOA reports and dashboards to analyze trends and inform leadership recommendations. You'll act as the single point of contact on leave matters for Payroll, Benefits, Legal, People Partners, and Finance, driving complex cases to resolution. The role requires 5+ years (8+ preferred) of hands-on global leave administration, benefits operations, or HR operations experience. You must have direct experience calculating leave top-ups for variable-compensation employees, strong knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, PFL, workers' comp, STD/LTD, and state benefit offsets, and proven pay audit accuracy. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities are essential. You'll work independently, managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with excellent judgment and communication skills. This is a full-time, in-office role based in San Mateo, CA, requiring 5 days per week on-site.
