Salary: USD 152,000 - 228,000 / annual
Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Public Relations Lead to join its growing Communications team. This is a strategic role focused on corporate and product communications, with particular emphasis on building and telling Klaviyo's AI and autonomous B2C CRM narrative to enterprise audiences.
You will partner directly with the Head of Communications and work closely with the C-suite, especially the Chief Product Officer, to develop and execute compelling media and thought leadership strategies that go beyond traditional PR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own PR strategy across corporate and product communications, aligning media strategy and messaging with company goals, product launches, and business milestones
- Drive proactive media engagement across business, tech, trade, and broadcast outlets; build media relationships and secure standout coverage while exploring creative, non-traditional storytelling approaches
- Develop and execute executive thought leadership programs, including shaping unique points of view, crafting messaging and soundbites, growing executive presence on LinkedIn, and securing top-tier speaking and media opportunities for C-suite executives (particularly the Chief Product Officer, but also supporting the CTO, CMO, co-CEOs, and CFO)
- Own and evolve Klaviyo's distinctive agent and AI story to position the company as a leader in the agent and AI space
- Lead data-driven narrative development by collaborating with product, marketing, and analytics teams to surface platform insights and turn them into compelling narratives and media angles
- Manage relationships with US and European PR agencies
- Support and train spokespeople with message development, interview prep, and coaching for interviews and speaking engagements
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Investor Relations, Content, and Internal Communications to identify timely stories and ensure consistent, clear, media-ready messaging
- Collaborate with the content team on reactive blog posts responding to industry news
- Use and build AI tools to automate and speed up team workflows
The role may require up to 10% travel for new hire onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or a related field, including in-house and/or agency experience
- Proven ability to secure standout coverage across top-tier business, technology, trade, and broadcast outlets
- Deep experience partnering directly with senior executives on media opportunities, speaking engagements, messaging, and thought leadership
- Strong ability to translate complex technical products, data, and business concepts into clear, compelling, media-ready narratives
- Strategic and creative thinker with exceptional writing and communication skills; ability to move seamlessly between strategy and hands-on execution
- Deep understanding of how corporate and product communications intersect, with ability to bring both together through compelling, integrated storytelling
- Strong relationship-building skills; ability to effectively influence and collaborate with senior leaders, cross-functional partners, media, and external agencies
- Comfortable operating with high degree of ownership and autonomy in a fast-paced environment where priorities and business needs evolve quickly
- Experience supporting technology, SaaS, B2B, or other high-growth companies strongly preferred
