Salary: USD 106,200 - 132,800 / annual
Mercury is a fintech platform providing banking and financial workflow solutions for startups and technology companies. We are seeking a Senior KYC Investigator to join our Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) team, reporting to the ODD KYC Lead.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting strategic initiatives that strengthen Mercury's KYC risk program and controls while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and established policies. You will help enhance operational workflows and develop new KYC/EDD controls to support product launches and scaling processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and implementation of new operational processes, including comprehensive procedures for BPO outsourcing and execution
- Partnering cross-functionally with Compliance, BSA, Product, and Risk Strategy teams to enhance the ongoing due diligence program and drive operational efficiency through data and technology
- Continuously refining and standardizing desktop procedures for various KYC workflows to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Supporting complex KYC Refresh and related workflow cases to ensure accurate and consistent execution
- Identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary case volume by proposing auto-clearing logic
- Maintaining and enhancing metric dashboards to monitor control performance, remediation status, and operational effectiveness
You should have 3-5 years of experience in KYC, Risk Investigations, AML, or Sanctions, with at least 2+ years building programs or processes. You are a highly motivated self-starter comfortable working in high-risk environments with minimal supervision. You have a strong understanding of regulated financial services environments and experience managing customer-facing queues and handling escalations. Experience with KYC verification software (Alloy, MidDesk, Socure, etc.) is required. You are curious about the US banking system, startups, and ecommerce, and you love solving problems and making teams, products, and processes more efficient.
