Salary: USD 82,400 - 103,000 / annual

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior IT Support Analyst to serve as the primary on-site IT support person at its Middle River, Maryland facility. You will work closely with the IT Client Services Lead and multiple IT teams (Infrastructure and Launch) to support critical space technology programs. In this role, you will own the on-site IT infrastructure—clients, servers, and network—and provide day-to-day IT service delivery to staff and Launch Engineers/Technicians. You will diagnose and resolve complex IT issues independently, building runbooks and documentation as needed. You will also provide technical guidance and instruction to teams across the site, support Launch and Mission Operations during launch periods, and own medium to complex IT projects end-to-end. Key responsibilities include: - Carrying out day-to-day IT service delivery functions - Tracking and updating support desk tickets (Incident, Request, Problem, Change, Project) and documentation - Diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues independently when no runbook exists, then creating one - Providing instruction, guidance, and technical support to teams across the site - Supporting Launch and Mission Operations during launch periods - Taking ownership of on-site IT infrastructure (clients, servers, network) - Building strong relationships with site leadership, engineering, and technician teams - Becoming the recognized IT subject matter expert for the facility - Owning medium to complex IT projects end-to-end and collaborating with the wider IT team on technical solutions This position suits someone seeking autonomy and ownership over their facility while having the support of a wider IT team. QUALIFICATIONS (Required): - 5+ years' experience in IT support, systems, or infrastructure roles - STEM degree or equivalent technical background - Demonstrable time operating with limited onsite supervision - Working knowledge of a service delivery framework such as ITIL - Practical experience with formal Change, Incident, Problem, and Configuration management - Experience across most, and deep capability in at least three, of the following: Windows and Linux desktop and server operating systems (imaging, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting); PC and server hardware (build, repair, upgrade, component-level diagnosis); Networking (switching, VLANs, routing basics, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless, PoE, structured cabling, fibre) and troubleshooting; Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash); Active Directory and Group Policy; Monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms - Experience owning a medium to complex, end-to-end IT project across all phases (requirements gathering, planning, implementation, testing, stakeholder coordination, operational support) - Familiarity with common AI platforms and ability to write effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated outputs, and identify opportunities to leverage AI for service delivery and operational efficiency - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to see the big picture - Ability to communicate and present complex technical concepts to a general audience QUALIFICATIONS (Nice to Have): - Certifications in ITIL, CompTIA (A+/Network+/Security+), Microsoft, or network vendor certification - Cloud-based technologies (Azure, AWS, O365) - Virtualization technologies and public/private cloud environments - Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform - Industrial/OT environments - Video surveillance and NVR platforms, media streaming, radio/voice comms systems - Telemetry, time-series, or test data pipelines and storage - Security and compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001) - Experience in fast-paced, high-tech industries (semiconductors, aerospace) supporting engineers, labs, manufacturing, and critical operations (mission control, launch, test ops) Note: This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas. ITAR compliance required: must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from U.S. Department of State/Commerce.
