Kin Insurance is seeking a Senior Insurance Business Analyst to bridge product strategy and technical delivery. You'll own the complete requirements lifecycle for insurance product launches, state expansions, endorsements, coverage changes, forms, rating updates, and compliance initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of Insurance Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, Engineering, and Tech Product teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating insurance product decisions (coverages, forms, endorsements, rating structures, eligibility rules, state variations) into clear business and functional requirements for Engineering and Tech Product teams
- Partnering across Insurance Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, Tech Product, and Engineering to gather inputs, resolve ambiguity, and maintain alignment from business decision through system deployment
- Documenting current-state processes and system behavior; defining future-state workflows; managing requirements changes throughout delivery
- Identifying gaps, edge cases, dependencies, compliance requirements, and downstream impacts across rating, policy administration, billing, claims, servicing, and reporting before development begins
- Assessing customer, operational, and system impact of proposed product rules; recommending alternative approaches when requirements would create unnecessary friction, cost, or unintended consequences
- Building user stories, process flows, decision tables, data mappings, and acceptance criteria that enable accurate development while maintaining traceability from approved decisions through implementation and testing
- Owning requirements questions during development as the primary point of contact; documenting clarifications and decisions as they're made
- Leading UAT planning, test scenarios, business review, and product review/beta-validation processes to confirm product changes are implemented correctly before broader release
- Driving launch readiness and repeatable delivery through process documentation, stakeholder communication, handoff guidance, and continuously improved templates, checklists, and documentation standards
Success in the first 6–12 months means Engineering and Tech Product treat your requirements as definitive truth; product decisions move to implementation-ready requirements faster; clarification cycles and rework drop because gaps surface before development; and requirements processes scale as Kin enters new states and expands products.
