Factory is seeking a Senior HRBP to serve as a foundational people partner during Series C hyper-growth. This role combines strategic HR partnership with hands-on execution, building the HRBP function from the ground up. You will advise functional leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and growth strategy as the company scales. You'll own headcount planning and data integrity for your client groups, developing playbooks and frameworks for org design, performance calibration, compensation cycles, and career ladders that become the foundation for the HRBP function. In employee relations, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, exercising judgment on coaching moments, policy issues, and escalations. You'll coach on performance, feedback, and people leadership while contributing to L&D, people programs, and total rewards initiatives. You'll run performance reviews and compensation cycles end-to-end for your client groups, including calibration, consistency, and communication. A data-driven approach is essential—you'll use attrition, span of control, and performance distribution metrics to flag organizational risks before they become retention problems. Factory's product is AI-focused, and you'll use AI tools (including the company's own product) as a core part of how you operate, dogfooding what the company builds. You'll operate at both strategic and tactical altitudes, building durable systems while managing day-to-day operational load. Requirements: 8+ years in HR with a strong track record as an HRBP or People Partner in high-growth, fast-paced tech companies. You have strong business acumen, understand how the company makes money, and can be a credible partner to functional leaders. You're a curious problem-solver who works root causes rather than pattern-matching to existing policies. You're genuinely employee-focused, building systems with the people who use them in mind. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust at all levels. Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands-on capacities in dynamic, fast-changing environments. Experience partnering with Finance on headcount planning and compensation strategy is expected. This is a full-time, in-office position (5 days/week) in San Francisco, walking distance to Caltrain.
