As Senior HR Business Partner for India, you will be the primary People point of contact for Bangalore-based business units during a period of rapid growth. Reporting to the Director of People – APAC, you will combine strategic HR partnership with deep ownership of India-specific compliance, employee relations, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
**Business Partnership**: Conduct regular cadence meetings with assigned business units, providing compensation and leveling guidance anchored to India market benchmarks. Analyze workforce trends (attrition, hiring, promotions, engagement) and develop solutions. Drive organizational design and talent strategy, including headcount planning and role scoping.
**Employee Relations & Compliance**: Manage complex employee relations issues and conduct thorough investigations. Maintain current knowledge of Indian labor law—Shops and Establishments Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, POSH Act, and New Labour Codes—to reduce legal risk across Karnataka and other states. Partner with Payroll & HR Compliance and external counsel on statutory matters. Own background verification exception handling and risk assessment. Provide performance management guidance to managers on coaching, career development, and disciplinary action consistent with Indian employment norms.
**Talent, Training & Culture**: Identify training needs and coaching opportunities for people managers. Support onboarding and offboarding processes. Gather and report on retention, promotion, hiring, and diversity metrics. Help build and refine India People Ops systems and processes.
You will be a trusted advisor to business leaders and an empathetic presence for employees, working closely with Payroll & Compliance, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards teams.
