Remote is a global HR compliance platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams across 80+ countries. The company operates fully remotely with a distributed workforce across six continents.
As a Senior HR Specialist in Employee Relations and Transitions (EMEA focus), you will serve as a critical extension of Remote's clients' HR teams, managing complex employee lifecycle matters with expertise in global employment law and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Employee Exits**: Manage end-to-end employee separations across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring legal compliance and superior customer experience. Lead termination meetings, workforce reduction consultations, and separation negotiations. Draft and administer termination documents with strict attention to detail and privacy compliance. Coordinate with payroll, legal, government bodies, and trade unions to ensure compliant offboarding.
**Employee Relations Support**: Provide first-level guidance on workplace concerns, conduct preliminary assessments of employee relations matters, and identify applicable local regulations. Support clients in understanding progressive discipline approaches and documentation requirements. Monitor ongoing cases and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
**Process Improvements**: Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and product development aligned with Remote's strategic goals. Serve as subject-matter expert on offboarding and employee relations matters for internal and external stakeholders.
**Cross-functional Collaboration**: Work with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time & Attendance teams to ensure comprehensive and timely administration of employee exits on Remote's HRIS platform.
The role requires navigating complex, multi-jurisdictional employment scenarios, balancing competing stakeholder interests, and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality. You'll directly influence Remote's ability to sustain compliance coverage, enhance customer journeys, and increase operational capacity across EMEA.
