Remote is a global HR compliance platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical customer-facing position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
The specialist manages end-to-end employee offboarding and exits across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring legal compliance while delivering exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include: managing complex employee separations and terminations; providing first-level employee relations support for workplace concerns; drafting and administering termination documents with strict attention to detail; leading facilitation meetings with clients and external employees on sensitive matters such as workforce reductions, negotiations, and settlement discussions; coordinating with internal stakeholders (payroll, legal, benefits, time & attendance) and external parties (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant offboarding; conducting preliminary assessments of workplace concerns and identifying applicable local regulations; supporting clients in understanding progressive discipline and documentation requirements; and monitoring ongoing employee relations cases.
The role requires expertise in navigating employment law across multiple jurisdictions, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to balance competing interests in complex termination scenarios. The specialist serves as a subject-matter expert on offboarding matters and contributes to process improvements, automation initiatives, and product development aligned with Remote's strategic goals. This is an individual contributor role focused on delivering compliance excellence and customer delight in a fully distributed, asynchronous work environment.
