Remote is a global employment platform that enables businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as a trusted extension of clients' HR departments.
The specialist independently manages complex, end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision, prioritizing legal compliance, quality, and exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include managing offboarding processes, providing first-level employee relations support, and guiding clients through workplace concerns.
Offboarding duties encompass managing complex terminations, resignations, transfers, and redundancy processes while ensuring adherence to local employment laws. The role requires independently leading meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. The specialist drafts and administers termination documents, maintains employee records with strict confidentiality, and coordinates with internal teams (payroll, legal, benefits, time & attendance) and external stakeholders (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant and timely exits.
Employee Relations responsibilities include conducting preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying applicable regulations, and serving as a trusted resource for complex cases. The specialist guides clients on progressive discipline, documentation requirements, and best practices for difficult situations.
As a senior individual contributor, the role includes mentoring junior team members, driving process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals, and acting as a first-point escalation for complex matters. The position requires deep expertise in multiple key jurisdictions, excellent judgment, and the ability to influence positive outcomes while navigating competing stakeholder interests. This is a fully remote role supporting a distributed, asynchronous global team.
