Remote is a global HR compliance platform that enables businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
The specialist independently manages complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, with a focus on legal compliance, quality service delivery, and excellent customer experience. Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Separations:**
- Manage complex employee exits with minimal supervision across multiple countries
- Provide expert guidance on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes
- Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations
- Navigate and influence positive outcomes in complicated terminations involving multiple stakeholders
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (payroll, legal, government bodies, trade unions) to ensure compliance
- Draft, tailor, and administer termination documents with strict attention to detail and privacy compliance
- Process offboarding through Remote's HRIS platform, collaborating across Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments
**Employee Relations Support:**
- Provide first-level employee relations guidance to clients navigating workplace concerns
- Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identifying facts, applicable regulations, and potential solutions
- Serve as a trusted resource on employee relations matters for internal and external stakeholders
- Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation requirements, and best practices for difficult situations
- Mentor junior team members, providing expertise and guidance
**Strategic Contributions:**
- Drive process improvements and initiatives aligned with Remote's strategic goals
- Contribute to elevating HR practices and integrating cutting-edge technology solutions
- Help shape the future of work through innovation and excellence
The role requires deep knowledge of international employment law, exceptional judgment in complex situations, and the ability to balance legal compliance with customer service excellence. This is an individual contributor role with mentoring responsibilities but no direct people management.
