The company operates fully remotely with team members across six continents and emphasizes innovation, automation, and AI integration across all roles.
As a Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist in Employee Relations and Transitions for the APAC region, you will independently manage complex end-to-end employee exits and provide first-level employee relations support to Remote's external clients. This is a critical role that directly influences the company's ability to maintain compliance, enhance customer experiences, and scale operational capacity globally.
Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Exits**: Manage complex, multi-jurisdictional employee terminations with minimal supervision, ensuring legal compliance and superior customer experience. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. Draft and administer termination documents with strict attention to detail and privacy compliance. Process offboarding through Remote's HRIS platform, coordinating with payroll, legal, benefits, and other internal teams.
**Employee Relations**: Provide first-level ER support and guidance on workplace concerns. Conduct preliminary assessments of complex workplace scenarios, identifying applicable local regulations and potential solutions. Serve as a trusted resource for both internal and external stakeholders on ER matters. Guide clients on progressive discipline, documentation, and best practices for difficult situations.
**Stakeholder Management**: Liaise with internal teams (Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits) and external parties (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant offboarding and audits. Influence positive outcomes in complex terminations by navigating competing stakeholder interests.
**Team Leadership**: Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, acting as a trusted escalation point and subject matter expert. Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives aligned with Remote's goals and values.
You will work across multiple international jurisdictions with deep knowledge of key employment laws, termination procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes. The role requires excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
