Remote is a global HR platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, serving as an extension of clients' HR departments.
The specialist independently manages complex, end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision, prioritizing legal compliance, quality, and excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Separations:** Manage and resolve complex employee exits including terminations, resignations, transfers, and redundancy processes. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. Provide trusted guidance on jurisdiction-specific requirements and best practices. Draft, tailor, and administer termination documents with strict attention to detail and confidentiality. Process offboarding through Remote's HRIS platform, coordinating with payroll, legal, benefits, time & attendance, and other internal teams.
**Employee Relations:** Provide first-level ER support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating appropriate resources. Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace issues, identifying key facts, applicable regulations, and potential solutions. Serve as a trusted resource for complex cases, advising on progressive discipline, documentation, and best practices for difficult situations.
**Stakeholder Management:** Liaise with and coordinate internal and external stakeholders (legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions, payroll) to ensure compliance. Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, navigating multiple stakeholders with competing interests.
**Team Leadership:** Act as first-point escalation, providing expertise, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members. Drive process improvements and initiatives aligned with Remote's strategic goals.
The role requires deep knowledge of global employment law, excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive, high-stakes situations independently. You'll work asynchronously across time zones in a fully remote, innovation-focused culture.
