This is a 12-month maternity cover role for a Senior HR Business Partner supporting the Engineering Division. The position demands deep expertise in UK employment law and complex employee relations case management, combined with strong manager coaching capabilities and a commercial mindset.
Key responsibilities include: strategic business partnering with Engineering leadership to drive engagement and organizational capability; autonomously managing complex UK ER matters including absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases; coaching line managers through organizational change and difficult conversations; owning elements of the People Plan including talent management, performance frameworks, and succession planning; leveraging AI-powered HR tools to modernize processes across the employee lifecycle; providing senior management with HR analytics and insights; and driving a high-performance culture through talent identification and retention strategies.
The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of generalist HR experience at HRBP level, with proven expertise in UK employment legislation and complex case resolution. Technical sector exposure is essential—you should understand engineering team dynamics and have successfully partnered with technical divisions. CIPD accreditation (or equivalent) is required. You'll need exceptional communication skills, discretion, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining alignment with the Chief People Officer. Manager coaching experience or certification is valued. International HR experience in APAC, AMER, or EMEA regions, HR operations expertise, and Workday HRIS knowledge are desirable.
