Chrono24 is the world's leading marketplace for luxury watches. The Buyer Experience Loyalty team owns product features end-to-end, working across product management, UX, QA, and engineering to drive repeat purchases and customer retention.
In this role, you will build and maintain features that keep buyers engaged, including Watch Collection, Wishlist, and user account functionality. You'll design and implement backend services and APIs using Java and Spring, implement necessary frontend changes across web (Vue.js), Android (Jetpack Compose), and iOS (SwiftUI), and ensure reliability in production. You'll work closely with product and design teams, challenging ideas constructively, proposing pragmatic solutions, and bringing technical expertise to product decisions.
The team operates with flat hierarchy and merit-based discussions. You'll have access to modern tools including Java 25, Spring, MySQL, GitLab CI, and AI tools like Claude Code integrated into daily workflows. The company reserves 10% of working time for learning and personal projects.
You think in terms of problems rather than tickets and care about real user impact. You write readable, maintainable code and are comfortable working across the full stack, with particular strength in backend systems. You use AI coding tools daily and review their output with the same rigor as peer code. You value pragmatism, can distinguish "good enough for now" from "technical debt we'll regret," and enjoy constructive debate.
Chrono24 offers permanent employment only, 30 days vacation annually, free daily meals at the Karlsruhe HQ, additional days off on December 24th and 31st, and the ability to work abroad up to 20 days per year.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on experience with Java and its ecosystem (testing, CI/CD, production operations)
- Familiarity with tools such as Spring, Maven or Gradle, SQL, and GitLab
- Frontend development experience on at least one platform: Vue.js (web), Jetpack Compose (Android), or SwiftUI (iOS); you should be able to build and modify UI features confidently
- Experience with or strong interest in AI-assisted development and agentic coding environments is a plus
