As a Senior Front End Engineer, you will be embedded within a multifunctional team collaborating closely with Product and Design to lead UI implementation across Checkout.com's merchant-facing products and services. You will take ownership of frontend architecture, drive technical best practices, and mentor team members. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality software solutions while managing project priorities and deadlines. You will ensure merchants enjoy optimal experiences across all frontend touchpoints and champion accessibility and user experience excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, customer-focused challenges at a rapidly scaling fintech company with 20 offices across six continents. You'll move fast, take on significant technical initiatives, and see your impact directly reflected in products used by billions globally.
The hybrid working model offers three days per week in the London office to support collaboration and team connection.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
- Comprehensive skills in React and TypeScript, capable of architecting complex applications, driving best practices, and mentoring others
- Extensive experience in software development, design, and architecture with strong focus on security
- Experience collaborating on software projects with both design and backend teams
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
- Cloud-based application development experience
- Strong customer focus; ability to build accessible applications with excellent UX
- Experience leading tech initiatives, guiding teams, and delivering results
- Experience building reliable, accessible, and well-tested systems
- Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams
QUALIFICATIONS (Desirable):
- Some experience with C#
- Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and performance issues in web applications and how to debug them
- Experience with asynchronous, event-driven architecture
- Database experience with NoSQL, ElasticSearch, or similar tools
