Quantum Space is seeking a Senior FP&A / Program Controller to lead financial planning and analysis for spacecraft development and mission programs. This hybrid role bridges corporate Finance and Program Management, ensuring program-level financial performance is accurately reflected in company budgets, forecasts, and executive reporting.
Key responsibilities include leading annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range planning processes for assigned programs; serving as a liaison between Finance and Program Management to translate program execution into financial impacts; developing and maintaining program budgets, resource plans, and cost baselines; owning rolling forecasts for revenue, expenses, labor, headcount, and cash flow; preparing and maintaining Estimates at Completion (EACs); analyzing actual results against budget and identifying key drivers and opportunities; leading monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews; developing financial models and scenario analyses for strategic planning and investment decisions; partnering with Accounting on financial reporting and cost allocation; supporting company-level management reporting and KPI development; monitoring program cost, schedule, and funding performance; evaluating financial impacts of contract modifications and engineering changes; tracking labor utilization and material spend; supporting Earned Value Management and other program controls methodologies; helping establish and improve FP&A processes and forecasting methodologies as the organization scales; and providing ad hoc financial analysis to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or program finance experience with demonstrated expertise in annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis. Experience in public company environments is strongly preferred, along with exposure to government contracting, aerospace, defense, or project-based businesses. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline is required. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to translate complex program activities into actionable financial insights, and experience working cross-functionally with Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and executive leadership.
